July 2021

Day 1

The teachers were trained on how to select, collect and recycle by a trainer German teacher. The training was led by the coordinator, who was a teacher of a mechanical and maths engineer. Therefore, under the guidance of engineers who mainly use product design and plastic engineering, their tools are computers and modern plastic processing machines. Even auto mechanics is focused in Germany on computer diagnostics and electrical components.

They tought us about:
-Categories of plastics
-Properties of different plastic materials
-Plastic processing methods
-Recyclable plastics vs. nonrecyclable plastic
-Difficult colors for recycling
-Microplastics and the difficulty in nature
-German Dual System for recycling

Day 2

Teachers gathered ideas for practical uses of recycling objects, classroom things. The meeting was receded by the presentation of the solutions found in each country (Turkey, Romania, Lithuania, Portugal and Spain). No matter how small and insignificant it may seem, all of these can contribute to the development of new recycling ideas that can be developed and supported by all of us. It is a good source of examples that can be successfully adapted in education and can become an inspiration.  Partners agreed on areas where some lessons can be based on QR codes. These prepared in English, to be used internationally. The Romanian team initiated the project partners in the use of QRs, their design, the ways of making and using them.

Day 3

Types of management and dissemination were discussed and tasks shared between all partners. The project calendar will be started and completed with data and activities. Communication channels established and reporting forms agreed on. As for the technical background, it suggested the purchase of essential equipment to ensure the success of the project (tablets, video programs, recyclable bags, selection gloves, paper bags).

How did the participation in this activity benefit the involved participants?

The participants learnt how to collect, select in a right way, how to recycle each product and how to  generate and read QR codes. The meeting initiated the project. The participants learnt about the objectives and expected results of the project. Since all the partners were strangers to each other they  needed to get to know about their schools, experience, expertise and potential. They also had to be introduced into the topic and learn about the advantages of the tools presented in the project.

The training session was very beneficial for all the teachers because only few knew how to select and recycle in a good way are and even fewer had learnt students in the classroom. Most of the project work  was  based on research and testing so the teachers had to be sure they were well prepared for the work.
